FIXED FLANGE TOWBAR

BENEFITS

  • Usually cheaper than other options

  • Compatible of using whichever style towball you require (standard, AL-KO or ball & pin)

  • Option of fitting a bumper protection plate

  • Allows the use of some styles of cycle carriers whilst towing

DISADVANTAGES

  • Can often affect your rear parking sensors causing them to think there is an obstruction when reversing 

  • Banging your legs when using your boot

SWAN NECK TOWBAR

BENEFITS

  • More aesthetically pleasing

  • Less likely to affect your rear parking sensors (but not guaranteed)

  • Allows the use of ball mounted cycle carriers

  • AL-KO compatible

  • Usually priced similarly to fixed flange towbars

DISADVANTAGES

  • Unable to choose which style of towball you require

  • Can't be height adjusted

  • Banging your legs when using your boot

FULLY DETACHABLE TOWBAR

BENEFITS​

  • The neck can be removed leaving the car looking like it doesn't have a towbar fitted

  • Choice of flange and swan neck detachable necks

  •  Will not interfere with rear parking sensors once the neck is removed

  • The neck locks to the vehicle stopping it from being stolen

  • You will not bang your legs when using your boot once the neck is removed

  • AL-KO and cycle carrier compatible


DISADVANTAGES 

  • ​Most expensive style of towbar

  • towball height cannot be adjusted

  • If you loose the towbar neck it can often be very expensive the replace
